The mothers...

Boniface, our Namibian guide down the Okavanga called us the mothers - Eric loved this image on a card which shows another group of mothers in a risky situation.

We kayaked down the Okavango, and down Popa Falls, very risky business for the mothers, Ellen, Lynn, Lindsay and Pru, in Africa.

Fox and Adrian fell out of their kayak down the falls, no damage done (apart from their egos, which I must say they were very good humoured about...).

Lindsay and Eric, and Pru and Keith got down with full marks, and Lynn and I (Ellen) went down with our guides, amazing kayakers, Boniface and Geerhart.

Pru and Keith - ready to go

Lynn and Adrian on the river

Boniface and Geerhart - our 2 wonderful and careful guides (except when they promised the mothers they would have a choice about going down Popa Falls, except when we got to the top of the falls there was absolutely NO choice, we just rearranged who we went down the falls with).

Overnight stopover - note the amount of gear we were carrying

Fox after the capsized kayak on Popa Falls - he looks really attractive in Lindsay's shirt and hat - but he is dry (top half) and relatively undamaged (a few sore spots)
